The pelvic ultrasound scan uses sound waves to create images of the female pelvic organs – ovaries, cervix, fallopian tubes and uterus.
It is used to measure and evaluate the size, shape, and position of the uterus and ovaries
- Thickness, echogenicity and presence of masses or tumours in the uterus, fallopian tubes, in or near the bladder
- Length and thickness of the cervix
- Changes in bladder shape
- Blood flow through pelvic organs
