Dr Katherine A Miszkiel BM( Hons) MRCP FRCR is a Consultant in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at two internationally renowned institutions, having a substantive appointment at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and an Honorary position at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
After graduating from Southampton University in 1988, she undertook postgraduate medical training at Guys Hospital prior to training in general radiology at The Middlesex and University College Hospitals, London; subsequently she completed subspecialty training in neuroradiology at The National Hospital, The Royal London and Great Ormond Street Hospitals.
She has been a consultant since 1998 and her some of her subspecialty interests include white matter diseases especially demyelination, pituitary and orbital diseases as well as neuro-ophthalmology but overall has extensive experience in the full spectrum of neurological and neurosurgical intracranial and spinal diseases and is the neuroradiological lead for a number of MDTS.
She has published over 75 articles in scientific peer reviewed journals, many in high impact journals including two in the New England Journal of Medicine. She has also co-authored several book chapters and teaches and lectures at national conferences and courses including on the UCL Advanced Neuroimaging MSc programme.
She has also been the Clinical Lead and Deputy Head of the Lysholm Department,of Neuroradiology at The National Hospital since 2007 and sits on a number of committees.
She is passionate about eduction and the training of future Neuroradiolgists and has been the Training Programme Director for the prestigious and highly sought after pan-London Neuroradiology Training programme for more than a decade.
