Dr Chris Harvey qualified in medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Hospital Medical School having obtained an intercalated BSc in Physiology. He trained in medicine and obtained MRCP then trained in radiology at The Middlesex/UCL and Hammersmith Hospitals before becoming MRC research fellow at Hammersmith Hospital.
He has been a Consultant and honorary senior lecturer at Hammersmith Hospital since 2001 as well as head of ultrasound and chief of service. Dr Harvey has published over 50 peer reviewed papers, three books and several chapters on a wide spectrum of radiological subjects as well as delivering many invited lectures to conferences as well as teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and radiographers.
He holds several national and international editorial positions and is responsible for refereeing papers and organising courses/seminars. He is currently an examiner for FRCR 2B.
Dr Harvey’s research interests include ultrasound and ultrasound contrast agents. His clinical interests are cross sectional imaging particularly of the gastrointestinal tract, renal/urogenital tract, hepatobiliary system and heart.
